Does HydroSil Destroy SARS-COV-2?

The TGA has recently ruled that no claims can be made about products destroying SARS-Cov-2 or its subsequent disease, Covid-19 without prior consent. This includes a ban on claims that are true and can be backed with peer reviewed evidence.

We are currently going through the process of gaining approval to make such claims, however until we gain approval we are unable to make any claims about our products in relation to SARS-Cov-2.

If you would like to know more information so you can make an informed decision for yourself you may find the following information useful. Once again we are not recommending or advising anyone to use our product for this purpose. Should you decide to do so you do so at your own risk.

What is in HydroSil?
HydroSil is hydrogen peroxide stabilised with trace amounts of silver.
You can see that these are the only ingredients that make up HydroSil on our MSDS sheets for each product.

What the EPA says about hydrogen peroxide and SARS-Cov-2
The EPA in the United States lists hydrogen peroxide as meeting ‘the EPA’s criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus that causes the disease COVID-19’.

What the Journal of Hospital Infection says about hydrogen peroxide and SARS-Cov-2
According the recent study published in the March 2020 Journal of Hospital Infection, after analysis of 22 previous studies, there are three choices for destroying Covid-19, each requiring one minute of contact time.

  • 0.5% hydrogen peroxide
  • 62–71% ethanol
  • 0.1% sodium hypochlorite (aka domestic bleach)
